The French producer has detected Listeria monocytogenes in raw milk cheese as part of self-regulation. The European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed RASFF and the cantonal enforcement authority of Geneva have informed the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) about this. A health hazard can not be excluded. The Swiss importer Laiteries Réunies Genève LRG has promptly ordered its customers to take back the affected products from the shelves and call back. The following products are affected: «Brillat Savarin le Vignelait» au lait cru • Packs of 500 g • Lot number: 77432 – D57 • Use by 05.05.2018 • Sold by various cheese sellers and wholesalers Prodega / Growa and Aligro. The FSVO recommends Consumers not to consume the affected products. Listeria can affect human health. In individual cases, flu-like symptoms (fever, headache, nausea) could occur after eating a product affected by listeria. Pregnant women and persons with a weakened immune system who experience the symptoms described are advised to see a doctor.
